Hey America 05:26
45 years got a few friends I can trust I got a couple more baby we don’t talk that much I got a woman, my god, she’s the best I’ve ever seen She keep me rollin like an 18 wheel machine I’m on a roll, I’m rollin, rollin on I’m an Indiana boy with a heart that won’t sit still My cups runnin over but I still aint got my fill Pray for me Mary that I keep my spirit right Help me Jesus when I wanna give up the fight I’m on a roll, I’m rollin, rollin on I’m on a roll, honey I’m rolling Hey America I’m lookin for a sign Hey America, yeah a little sign of life Hey America Living by faith and not by sight Drivin through the mountains in the middle of the night Rain coming down but I think I see your light Hey America I’m on a roll, I’m rollin, rollin on I’m on a roll, honey I’m rolling Hey America I’m lookin for a sign Hey America, yeah a little sign of life Hey America Living by faith and not by sight Drivin through the mountains in the middle of the night Rain coming down but I think we’ll be alright Hey America

Gonna take a train to louisiana Gonna find myself some company Way Down, Way Down Been feeling like this for a season Like the whole world is gettin mean And I need some shelter - ‘Fore it takes over me It don’t matter What you thought It don’t matter what you’re not In the city care forgot I once spent some time in West Virginia With people whose lives had washed away Way down.. Way down Family of four sitting in a driveway Trunk filled up with sleeping bags That Wills Creek water - took everything they had It don’t matter If you prayed It don’t matter If you stayed That muddy water… gonna have its say Maria I am looking for a reason To pack up what we need and slip away Way down way down Take that train down to louisiana Find ourselves some company Find some shelter Fore it washes all away It don’t matter If they talk It don’t matter True or not In the city care forgot

Solomon 05:30
Solomon built a house For the Lord But the most high don’t livein a house of stone Solomon built a house For the lord But the most high don’t live in a house of gold He lives in the stars, and in souls there is space beyond distraction where ancient spirits wander free whispering like a wheezing ember There is a light in you you can still see Solomon built a house For the Lord But the most high don’t livein a house of stone Solomon built a house For the lord But the most high don’t live in a house of gold He lives in space, and in souls Precious stones and money don’t impress him Nothing to defend or demand Nothing but mercy and forgiveness And the whole cosmos drawn into a lamb There is a place beyond distraction Right here sitting at this pub The ghosts are wandering around us The spirit pointing us to love Solomon built a house For the Lord But the most high don’t livein a house of stone Solomon built a house For the lord But the most high don’t live in a house of gold He lives in the stars, He lives in space He lives in hearts and in souls

We are not islands We are not sunsets The stories of the silent frisson and gold The stories of the silenced gonna be told Arrested decay Arrested decay Arrested decay but my heart is on the mend We are not islands We are not sunsets The stories of the silent written in bold The stories of the silenced gonna be told Arrested decay Arrested decay Arrested decay but my heart is on the mend

Some say the world will end in fire Some say the righteous shall be flame Meanwhile we balance on this wire Hoping the gleam will light our way Lydia I don’t know how you do it But i know this place is better cause you’re here Trace the lid of the cup try to quiet your mind now And step away from the abyss Some say the days are growing short Some say the best is yet to come You say there’s only one way out And that’s to care for everyone Lydia I don’t know how you do it But i know this place is kinder cause youre here Face the window and think of yosemite And step away… from the abyss Some say the world will end in fire Some say the righteous shall be flame Meanwhile we balance on this wire Hoping that love will be our claim Lydia I don’t know how you do it But I know this world is better cause youre here Put on Sigur Ros, try to quiet your mind now And step away.. .from the abyss

about

This is truly an album of collaborations.
Starting with my band - Matt and Paul, who did what they do - even if, once again it was in the weird world of distance recording, these pros made it sound like we were playing in the same room - Matt says he glad there were no cameras recording his drum sessions - running back to the control room, hitting recording (did I mention he also engineered this record? He did) running back to drums, re-doing one little section to get it right.
From there the collaborations went from Nashville to Chicago, Lafayette to Indianapolis - So grateful to Claire Tchoula, David Newbould, John Boyle, Lynzi Stringer, Brandon Pfeiffer and Dan Dietrich for making this a truly special record - I'm so proud of it - cause its music with my friends.
